Walk Softly and Carry a Big Stick

Dec. 13th, 2008 06:27 pm Winter... fuck it's cold.

Well for the most part, you know that i don't swear... too much. I do have the occasional rant that's nothing but anger, but for the most part, I'm pretty clean.

However... I MUST in all fairness be obligated to point out the absolute treachery which is the weather.

Let's wind back, oh say 40 hours or so.

It's 8 am, I'm prepping to get to work. It's 1 Degree C out, so about 32-34 F. Not too bad for December 11th if i do say so myself. A little snow on the ground... oh heck a lot of snow on the ground.

I get into work, check what the weather would be like, and oh look at that Winter Weather Warning from the weathernetwork, this looks important.

The warning goes... "winter storms are emminante in the Calgary region. 15-20 cm of snow are expected in the next 12 hours with another 20 cm in the next 48." There's approximately 2.5 cm to every inch, which means 16 inches of snow in the next day.

Oh there's another tag line. Remember how i said it was just about plus one. Yes, the current temperature is.... *drum roll* -25 C before windchill, and -35 so for you southern friends, we're looking at -13 F and -31 with Windchill. HURRAY!.

Skin freezes at -25 >.<

But this has given Marc and I a chance to put up our Christmas Tree.

So to end this chilly post, i say again, Winter... Fuck it's cold.

Dec. 2nd, 2008 08:12 pm ... in continuation

Okay, now that i don't feel like my head is in a vice.

Went to Great Big Sea last night, they were on tour for their new CD Fourtune's Favour. Overall they played a nice balance of newer songs and stuff that was familiar.

I quite enjoyed when Alan was talking about the last time they were in Calgary doing "kitchen parties" for the cd to promot it's sales and he said, whoever thought promoting our cd's in a bar was a good idea needs to be shot. We had to do a second tour to pay for the first one. We played for 3 hours that night and after we got paid we owed the bar 126 dollars.

It was nice to go out, the music was VERY loud, but very good. Got up and danced a few times, sang along even enjoyed it when then had us singing bohemian rhapsody.

Next on the list of things i get to do is take my mother to the Alberta Ballet to see the new nutcracker performance.

But before then... i get to go clean my computer room... :( It's very messy.

Marc's birthday's on friday... it's funny, i've told him numerous times this week that his gift was last night's concert, but i'm still thinking about what i should really give him.... ¬.¬ a swift kick in the ass may make me feel better, but then he'll complain all weekend about a sore butt and we'll never get anything done.

Hah... don't get married unless you're sure you wont kill your partner... it's messy and think of the blood stains.

Dec. 2nd, 2008 08:34 am Monday Night Concerts...

Should be banned.

It was awesome, and I had a blast; but oh man was it long, and today i have to work. :(

Let's just say, if you like feeling invovled with the music, and jumping to a concernt Great Big Sea is definately worth their discounted ticket price. I paid about the same about for four tickets to this concert as i did for the Ballet tickets for the nutcracker in a few weeks.

Right now, nothing much more to report. Will update with a litte more details later.

Nov. 5th, 2008 11:44 pm Concert Rocked!

I absolutely loved the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert i went to tonight. Not only was it wonderfully put together and the music and light shows were spectacular. It was 3 hours long for 40 dollars!

They've also said that they will be coming back next year, so I'll be able to see them again in another year.

It's so cool.

They did a play with a narrator and vocals and music for the first 1.5 hours, and then for the last half of the show, they played their top hits from all of their covers.

Weee... giddy... but I must go to bed, sleepy now and I work tomorrow.

----haha...  noticed today that i missed the "t" in concert in the title.

Oct. 20th, 2008 10:52 pm Time Flies...

Gomen....

I'm sorry i haven't been saying much lately. LIfe has been keeping me running in circles.

Overall things are going well. I have my health, my husband and my sanity. :) Which to some degreed i don't really know how much i want of any of the three.

Marc's going to Vegas this weekend to be the best man at a wedding. We looked at me going, but i got _REALLY_ lucky when i booked his flight and got round trip with taxes for 305. And he'll be staying with the wedding party's parents so free room while down there. But if I came we would've had to doulbe the flight cost, rented a car and paid for a hotel room... Not my idea of a fun vacation. However, I am keen on seeing if we can do a road trip next year.

I'm fairly interested in the fact that the TSO is coming to calgary in 2 weeks... I haven't been able to convince anybody to come with me... apparently music with little to no words makes other people run away... fast. I'm still trying to figure out if anybody is off or works late on the thursday that i can talk into coming. I think my plight is a little hopeless... oooh maybe Diana....

Uh well... not much else to say, been avoiding my computer as it gives me pains to be in front of the thing for too long... It's coming up on colder weather, i expect to start my love affair with my humming baby soon and maybe i'll actually get to play some online games.

Catch ya later,

If you need to know more, you know my email address.

Sep. 11th, 2008 10:28 pm .... oops

Ah, bad me.

I didn't intentiionally forget about LIve journal. LIfe just really hasn't been interesting... or worthwhile to talk about.

Sorry to those who actually find out informaiton about me here. I'm just really silent.

About all i can say is that i Got my 5 year plaque at work when i made it back from vacation. Won some money tonight and I'm sleepy.

I seem to think Live Journal and Wow go hand in hand. As i've not clocked into WoW since my vacation either. I guess it's just that i've been too busy and I damnit i don't see my husband enough during the week, i can't justify hording myself up in my computer room for 6-7 hours for one night and spending that much more time away from him.

Mmmm... maybe next friday can be a wow night.... Maybe saturday if Eric and Reagan decide they want to through the football around with marc.

maybe i need rest.

LoL

Love ya
HIme

Aug. 6th, 2008 10:27 pm In other news

My vacation is about 85% over. Part of me thinks i should take my other 5 days off. LoL... I'm spoiled, but i worked DAMN hard to get their at work.

Looking forward to going back a bit. My vacation's exhausted me. As well i should be getting my 5 year plaque upon my return to work. Never thought i'd be with this company for 5 years, but i've done it.

Thanks to my parents i gots new doors for my birthday. They're so pretty and they go well with the Newport grey which surrounds them. Hah, my brother in law was like "don't go blue, whatever you do, don't go blue" so i went kinda blue and he likes it. Never trust a guy who doesn't have a woman or (or a boyfriend) to have taste.

Going back to where it's cooler, and potentially watch my hubby sleep.

Jul. 30th, 2008 02:30 pm It's BLUE

...hah.. made you look.

I'm thinking the title needs work, but it's in celebration of my first day of painting windows and door frames. I was priming them yesterday... stupid ladder... all by my lonesome and i've gotten the window sill right by the main entrance and the main door frame painted. It was this nasty shade of yellow on pale yellow. But now... it's BLUE! on nasty pale yellow.

Well it's anot a true blue. It's called newport Grey but, it's more blue in the bright sunlight then grey. ^_^

I's happy.. and my knee is killing me
